this is halloween

Poor Halloween, it seems to be everyone’s second favorite holiday. No matter how many sugary treats, elaborate costumes, and heartbeat-raising movies it offers up for our delight, it is still eclipsed by that December holiday.

To add insult to injury, in recent years the #1 holiday has crept back into the autumn months and placed its decorations all over store shelves before back-to-school and even joyously claimed to own a piece of July. Insulting, really.

In response to this affront, and in all fairness, Halloween is now demanding more shelf space during its brief reign in stores offering a wide variety of decor, cards, lights and even it’s own, darkly beautiful trees and ornaments. I mean, it only makes sense…the Christmas tree is propped up in the corner of the living room slowly dying beneath its glamorous decorations eventually turning into a sparkly corpse… doesn’t that sound more Halloweeny?? Don’t even get me started on the Elf on the Shelf…creeeee-py.

So this year I’m starting a Halloween shop on my site, beginning with mini cards featuring reproductions of my pencil drawings. Each original drawing is also available mounted in a white mat ready for framing to elevate your household’s Halloween game. I’m working on ornaments for that tree as well!
